Thank you so much for giving my father, Nicholas T. Hengels, the chance to honored. He will never forget this day. Everyone was so nice. I'm so glad we can honor our veterans. Thanks to the volunteers, the Chicago police bagpipers, honor guards, the boy Scouts of America, the schoolchildren who came out, The Lions Club, and everyone else I forgot to mention. Everyone made this a day to remember. Thanks to my sisters for be there for dad. Every vet deserves this experience. I would also like to thank all who sponsors who make these HonorFlights possible.

How can one thank so many people who made my day after 68 years of wondering why nothing happened when we came home the first.It was worth waiting for and the excitement,joy and wondermont wiped out those 68 years.
